Be Loving

June 7, 2010

I have, in the last year, been asked for relationship advice more and more often. I admit, I have a fairy-tale marriage, where we’re both so happy it’s almost surreal. And we do make it look easy.

But you know what?

It took both of us a lot of years, a lot of heartache, and a lot of personal development to get to this point, where we were capable of loving each other the way we do. Yes, our love is simple. But “getting simple” was hard. And? Anyone can get to where we are, if they are willing to commit to the work.

What work is this?

Self-knowledge. Honesty. Presence. Clear communication. Responsibility.

These are at the core of healthy and happy relationships. And they are something that anyone can work on and improve at any time — whether they are in a relationship or not.
